Keenan Recycling, part of Biffa, provides food waste collection services for businesses including restaurants, hotels, care homes, hospitals, and prisons. We also collect food waste on behalf of waste management companies, brokers, and councils. With the use of high-end technology, we make the most of any food waste by taking it to anaerobic digestion plants, where it is converted into biogas that can be used for electricity, heat or even biofuel for transport.
The role of an LGV Driver involves collecting and emptying food waste wheelie bins on a multi-collection basis. This is a physically demanding role, and you will need to be comfortable with early starts and happy working outside all year round and in all weathers. This is a great job if you like to work using your own initiative in the outdoors, carrying out a role where you can make a difference to the local environment and communities.
Duties:
- Multi-collections of food waste wheelie bins
- Provide excellent customer service
- Cover weekend work where applicable
- Cover extra duties where necessary
Key skills & experience:
- Class C Licence holder
- Valid Digital Tachograph
- Valid DQCPC Card
- Proven record of being a safe and efficient driver
- Ability to take ownership of tasks, prioritising when necessary and ultimately seeing them through to completion
