Your work will take you across the North Region and into a variety of recycling and processing facilities, each with its own challenges and opportunities. We welcome talent from beyond the waste sector, including Engineering SNCOs or Officers, Manufacturing professionals, and those in Hard FM or Asset Management. You'll have full control of your diary, with regular regional travel and occasional UK-wide visits.

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop site-based engineering managers and their teams to deliver high performance, reliability, and safety across the Northern Region.
  • Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practice, reducing waste, and optimising equipment and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the wider Engineering leadership team to align regional performance with national objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards, promoting a proactive safety culture across all sites.
  • Oversee the delivery of key engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Our essential requirements:

  • Previous multi-site management experience.
  • Experience of managing health and safety within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • An engineering / asset management qualification.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Budget / P&L management skills.
  • Comfortable with the use of all Microsoft applications and the ability to learn others such as Trello or Slack.
  • Highly skilled manager with a coaching and developmental style, confident in managing the performance of others.
