A quick look at the role:
The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking with a desire to drive the performance of the estate towards a more profitable position. You will rely on existing relationships and industry connections while forming new ones to secure additional business and attract increased waste volumes across the Area's Transfer Stations. You will be responsible for the procurement of all dry waste materials from new and existing clients for the 20 Transfer Stations across the North, organising collections, and liaising with Regional General Managers and the Commodities Trading Team to ensure that we maintain an operating margin aligned with business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering on target performance through sourcing suitable waste materials
- Work closely with the Area Transfer Station Manager to drive a growth strategy aligned with business needs
- Develop local strategies to plan growth through volume acquisition
- Complete bid and tender processes
- Deliver campaigns to maximise revenue and productivity
- Secure new business for our transfer stations
- Manage a portfolio of existing accounts, ensuring service requirements and volume targets are met
- Produce regular activity and pipeline reporting to provide visibility of current and forecast activity
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in a B2B sales environment
- Excellent knowledge and experience in commercial tonnage sales
- Profitability analysis skills
- Understanding of Waste Management / Transfer Stations and processing
- Exceptional commercial awareness
- Strong industry network
- CoTC preferable but not essential
