Your core responsibilities
- Explore, identify, and manage new business tendering opportunities to secure and grow the business.
- Effectively promote the ‘The Biffa Model’.
- Use the most appropriate features & benefits based on clients’ needs and match with a tailored solution.
- Develop new business relationships and successfully manage the sales process, including lead generation, sales presentations, proposal solutions, negotiation, closing, and handover to the account management team.
- Respond to tenders and requests for information promptly.
- Interact effectively with other departments, including account management and internal teams, during the handover of new customers, ensuring comprehensive and accurate briefing on all aspects of the sale.
- Manage sales prospects (client average order values circa £500k) with a minimum overall sales pipeline value of £15 to £20 million.
Qualifications and experience
- Over 3 years’ experience in a comparable field-based B2B business development role.
- Proven track record in sales, selling contracted services worth a minimum of £500,000 per annum.
- A charismatic communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
