Help us make a difference as a Site Supervisor based at Bracknell, Berkshire.
A quick look at the role:
- The Waste Operator will be operating machinery which includes Forklift, Llop, Counter balances, Compactor and Balers.
- The Waste Operative will effectively and efficiently process waste whilst ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to.
- Each material is to be processed as per the guidelines and all data to be captured and recorded accurately.
48 hours per week Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm £17.10 per hour (annual salary £40,014). Overtime may be available with a 50p per hour uplift.
Interviews: week commencing 16th February. Start date: week commencing 16th March.
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility to ensure all H&S issues are reported and received from waste operatives in a timely manner.
- Complete visual inspections and machine check sheets before use.
- Liaise with JLP Maintenance to report any machinery issues.
- Ensure waste areas are always kept clean and tidy.
- Ensure correct PPE is always worn whilst on site by all team members.
- Processing of various waste materials which are presented.
- Capturing and recording all data accurately as required.
- Sorting waste into appropriate streams.
- Upholding all Health and Safety and company procedures.
- Signing in at the beginning of every shift and signing out at the end of every shift.
- Reporting any issues to the Operations Management Team that could impact the operation.
- Ensure correct PPE is always worn whilst on site.
- Customers site policy and procedures are always adhered to in line with Biffa's.
- Promoting a positive safety, health and wellbeing culture at site.
- Ensuring good customer care and positive interactions with customers, drivers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain housekeeping to the safe and high standard that Biffa requires.
