A quick look at the role.
To provide efficient and effective management of the Recycling & Waste Handling Contract to ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled whilst maintaining a positive and productive partnership with West Sussex County. Lead the sourcing of outlets for output materials not handled by the Biffa Commodities Team.

Your core responsibilities.
Responsible for the contractual relationship of the West Sussex County Council (WSCC) Recycling Waste handling Contract and MRMC Contract with Biffa
Contract management, upstream and downstream. To include strategic, operational and compliance elements that ensure maximised recycling.
Preparation and submission of monthly reports to West Sussex County Council (WSCC).
Create and sustain a positive working relationship with West Sussex County Council (WSCC) to support profitable operations for both parties.
Client liaison and management to ensure all operational and contractual obligations under the RWHC are met.
Be the main point of contact for the WSCC Contract managers on all contractual and operational issues, ensuring contractual timescales are achieved or exceeded.
Maintain contractual records and documentation such as correspondence & change notices at all times.
Requirements
Our essential requirements.
Degree-level education, ideally in an environmental discipline.
IOSH Safety for Managers with solid knowledge of environmental and H&S legislation.
Experience managing a PFI contract or similar, preferably within a local authority setting.
Ability to manage, interpret and integrate data through BI systems (desirable).
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, engage and drive high-performing operational teams.
