Are you an experienced operations professional who enjoys leading teams, keeping services running smoothly and making a real difference in local communities? We're looking for an Operations Supervisor to play a key role within our Municipal division, helping to deliver safe, reliable and efficient recycling, waste collection and street cleansing services. This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management, operational planning and customer focus.
As Operations Supervisor, you will support the Operations Manager in overseeing daily service delivery, supervising frontline teams and managing operational resources. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning daily work schedules, crew deployment and vehicle/resource allocation
- Managing and supporting frontline teams, including attendance, performance and training
- Ensuring accurate completion of operational documentation and maintaining contract records
- Promoting high standards of health & safety and ensuring compliance with legislation and company procedures
- Building strong relationships with local authority clients and supporting service improvement
What do I need to be successful?
- Experience supervising operational teams, ideally within waste, recycling, logistics or similar environments
- Strong people management skills and confidence handling performance and attendance matters
- Good working knowledge of health & safety and operational compliance
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
- Full UK driving licence (LGV Class 2 / IOSH Managing Safely desirable)
