An opportunity has arisen to join the hardworking team at Wednesbury Hazardous Waste Treatment Plant. We are in need of an experienced Plant Operative to work 45 hours per week on rotating shifts of 0700 to 1600 and 09:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday. Some flexibility on start and finish times may occasionally be required, and the work may include some weekends if required.

Operatives will proactively carry out the day-to-day reception, handling, storage, treatment and processing of all incoming and outgoing wastes through Wednesbury Treatment Plant. Paramount to the role is that waste is handled in an approved manner ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental compliance standards are always met. Operatives will be trained in all aspects of the process.

OPERATIVES REQUIRE:

  • Operatives will be required to perform manual handling duties, when necessary, i.e. sweeping and cleaning of spilled material, sortation, weighing and repacking of packaged goods along with general site housekeeping.

DESIRABLE:

  • Counterbalance FLT Licence
  • Telehandler Licence
  • Knowledge & understanding of the requirements of working within a time critical hazardous waste processing environment.
