We are currently seeking a professional and reliable LGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. Reporting directly to the Transport Manager, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of customers’ waste, while ensuring full compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver who takes pride in delivering outstanding service and maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive and operate LGV Class 1 vehicles as directed by the Traffic Office and Operations Manager.
- Carry out the efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of customer waste.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations at all times.
- Promote safe working practices and report any hazards or near misses.
- Complete routine vehicle inspections and promptly report any defects.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork, including daily timesheets and transport documentation.
- Provide holiday, sickness, and breakdown cover for colleagues when required.
- Attend training courses, toolbox talks, and team meetings to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and customers, delivering excellent customer service at all times.
- Support the wider operation with any other reasonable duties as required.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Previous Class 1 driving experience
- Valid LGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Driver CPC qualification
- Experience within the waste industry is desirable but not essential
