In this role you will form part of our engineering team onsite contributing to the internal & external preventative, reactive and corrective maintenance work on our plant equipment. Our goal as a team is to continuously improve machine reliability, availability & capacity to manufacturing standards.
You will increase the site operational effectiveness, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and implement improvement plans, ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and this role is no different. You will liaise with the SHEQ team to resolve H&S, environmental, internal audits, GMP, COSHH and ISO quality issues. You’ll ensure all compliance checks are complete and correctly filed ensuring our site is operating in full compliance with UK regulations and Global manufacturing standards.
Your key responsibilities:
- Providing both a reactive and pro-active, highly skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
- Liaise with external contractors for reactive maintenance and to schedule planned service maintenance. Request & check RAMS, induct personnel, provide permits to work and oversee contractor works onsite to ensure work is carried out safely.
- Following and completing (signing off) planned maintenance (PMs, RMs & CMs) via a Computer Maintenance Management System and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.
- Actively participate in Projects, continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
- Assist in the administration of the CMMS (Piranha) to ensure its accuracy at all times. Piranha to be used for all maintenance and stock activities.
- Basic PC skills needed for Excel, Emails and Shift Handover documentation; training will be given on the finer points.

- Familiar and worked with continuous improvement (CI) – Lean, Kan Ban, OEE, TOC and other activities.
- Knowledge of various mechanical drive arrangements, including simplex, duplex, chain, belt, gearboxes, and fluid drive transmission equipment.
- A background in Fabrication & Welding would be advantageous: Mig, Tig, Arc process and use of Oxy acetylene flame cutting equipment.
