A quick look at the role.

As Quality Manager at Biffa Polymers, you’ll play a key role in managing and improving our quality systems. You’ll ensure customer and regulatory requirements are met, lead on BRCGS accreditation, set quality standards, and drive continuous improvement. Acting as a key point of contact for customer audits and quality matters, you’ll help maintain high performance and service standards across the site.

Your core responsibilities.

  • Lead site audits and ensure full compliance with BRCGS Packaging Issue 7
  • Manage and improve quality systems, policies, and documentation
  • Own customer audits, complaints, and quality investigations, including site visits
  • Provide technical expertise on Starlinger PET, Sesotec, and ERP systems
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions across the quality team
  • Align quality goals with business strategy and lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with food contact regulations and liaise with relevant authorities
  • Deliver regular quality reports and ensure calibration of critical equipment

Requirements

  • IOSH Managing Safely, GCSEs in English and Maths, and a full UK driving licence
  • Strong experience in manufacturing with working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to meet quality KPIs and manage service-level agreements
  • Familiar with quality systems, plastics legislation, and food contact compliance
  • Desirable: NEBOSH certificate, Quality Management qualification, and project/change control experience
