  • We are seeking a dedicated

LGV Lead Driver to oversee our driver team and ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient transport operations.

This role involves coordinating schedules, monitoring performance, and serving as a key point of contact for drivers, all while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Ideal candidates will have a valid LGV license, CPC qualification, and experience in both driving and team leadership.

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsible for communicating with Drivers regarding customer service information and addressing day to day issues out with the depot
  • Providing holiday cover for the Logistics Manager.
  • Provide holiday cover for other drivers when necessary.
  • Ensure a high level of health & safety of compliance are maintained at all times.
  • Assists in the delivery of a safe operation within the transfer station & operational areas
  • Assist in the continuing operations and participating in maintaining vehicles and equipment
  • Providing training/support to drivers and operational staff

Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Class 1 HGV Licence
  • In-depth knowledge of Biffa Vehicles
  • Team player
  • Nationally recognised Driver CPC driver Card
  • Driver Digital tacho card
  • Preferable
  • Experience in working in a waste management environment
  • A. D. R Licence
