Help us make a difference as a Shift Mechanical Technician at our Green Energy facility in Hull. The role is Shift rota (2 days / 2 nights / 4 off) 6am/6pm - 6pm/6am, £44,000 per annum.
A quick look at the role. The role holder will effectively drive engineering activities at our facility to deliver all operational aspects of the facility. The role holder will be responsible for driving plant availability through ensuring all PPMs, reactive maintenance, engineering, and process improvements are carried out and implemented in a timely manner. The role holder will drive best practice on a shift basis through high engineering, compliance, and H&S standards.
Your core responsibilities:
- Tackle machinery issues fast – respond to breakdowns, carry out planned preventative maintenance, and deliver project work across a wide range of mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
- Hands-on mechanical work – pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, shafts, and rotating equipment, with strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Industrial know-how – experience in manufacturing, industrial, or automated environments, mechanically qualified, and confident with strip-downs, rebuilds, and mechanical fault finding.
- Engineering precision – align and fit components, overhaul machinery, carry out lubrication and inspection regimes, work with fabrication and welding when required, and maintain top-tier safety and housekeeping standards.
