We’re looking for an ambitious and proactive Business Development Manager to identify, develop and close new business opportunities. You’ll be at the forefront of our growth in the Durham area — building strong relationships, crafting smart solutions, and making a tangible impact from day one.

Your core responsibilities:

  • Building and managing a strong pipeline of profitable new business opportunities.
  • Selling contracted services into commercial sectors across your territory.
  • Meeting and exceeding quarterly/annual sales targets.
  • Creating and presenting strategic sales plans, reports, and forecasts.
  • Working closely with the Regional Commercial and Depot Managers to align on campaigns and local strategies.
  • Acting as the main point of contact between Biffa and prospective customers.
  • Leading pricing negotiations and tailoring solutions to fit client needs.

Our essential requirements:

  • Proven experience in new business sales — especially selling contracted services.
  • A track record of consistently exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent prospecting, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly motivated, goal-driven, and able to work autonomously.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
