The Commercial Manager – Supply Chain is responsible for leading the commercial management, optimisation and governance of the supply chain with Specialist Services to deliver best-value solutions, drive profitability and support business growth.
The role oversees supplier relationships, disposal routes, pricing support, supplier onboarding and commercial negotiations, while identifying opportunities to reduce costs, rationalise the supplier base and internalise outsourced activities.
Working closely with sales, technical, operational and contract management teams, the role ensures robust commercial decision-making, develops solutions for challenging waste streams, and drives continuous improvement across supply chain processes, performance and compliance.
Your core responsibilities.
- Lead and centralise supplier and disposal point negotiations to ensure best-value commercial outcomes across all waste streams.
- Review, optimise and rationalise the supply chain network to drive cost savings, supplier standardisation and a reduction in supplier numbers.
- Manage the onboarding, approval and integration of new suppliers into the supply chain, ensuring compliance, capability and commercial suitability.
- Analyse third-party spend and identify opportunities to internalise services and improve overall profitability.
- Coordinate and support pricing, tender submissions and new business opportunities through robust market assessment and cost analysis.
- Develop strategic supplier agreements and waste stream specific deals to maximise value and manage cost increases effectively.
- Establish and maintain strong supply chain governance, including supplier processes, compliance documentation, audits and system data management.
- Collaborate with technical, commercial and operational teams to identify solutions for difficult waste streams and improve service delivery.
- Provide commercial leadership, stakeholder support and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance and business growth.
