Baler Operator – South Kirkby, Wakefield
Salary: £31,683.60 per annum
Working Pattern: 45 hours per week, exclusive of lunch breaks, usually worked any 5 days from 7 between the hours of 06:00 and 22:00
Key Purposes of the Role
To achieve making material bales that meet with off-taker specs from the MRF. To control operations with the MDR MRF Baler Hall, working close with the MRF Team Leader to ensure all aspects of Facility’s SHEQ are met. To promote good housekeeping and making sure daily inspections are completed and any defects found are raised promptly. Making sure stock levels are controlled through collections as to not over-fill the facility. To efficiently run the equipment as to not stop production from the main plant.
Key Accountabilities
• Ensure daily checks are done on machinery and mobile plant
• Responsible for the day to day operations within the MDR MRF facility baler hall.
• Ensuring that all bales made are of suitable quality and bale length.
• Manage the reporting of all safety or environmental issues to the Site Management team.
• To conduct regular checks on all MRF machinery and equipment, filling out any associated paperwork timely and accurately.
• To report any plant breakdown maintenance issues to maintenance team timely and liaise with maintenance team until plant is operational again.
• To ensure plant is running at optimum to achieve balance between material quality targets, rejection rate targets.
Essential Experience
• English literacy level 1 or equivalent
• Must be able to Work at Height.
• Mobile Plant licence (Fork Truck, Tele-Handler, Loading Shovel)
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
• Good people and communication skills.
