Salary: £33,637 per annum

A rotating shift pattern Mon – Sat (morning) with week one 06:00 – 14:00hrs, week two 22:00 – 06:00hrs and week three 14:00 – 22:00hrs. Overtime and occasional weekend working required, paid at time and a half from Monday to Saturday, double time on a Sunday and bank holidays paid at double time with a day off in lieu.

The role requires the candidate to be available to be on call for fire alarms on a rota basis. As part of our driving team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day change-over of containers to maintain the optimal productivity at our MBT facility, ensuring that recycling and diversion targets are met. You will ensure all skips, trailers, bins and equipment are stored in a safe and efficient manner, with ease of access. Reporting all safety or environment issues to Management, and where appropriate, to internal support services staff is essential.

Essential Criteria for this role:

  • HGV class 1 license (desirable), HGV class 2 also considered and ideally trained to use Roll-on Roll-off (RORO) vehicles as well as forklift trucks (telehandler machines).
  • Team player with high levels of drive and flexibility.
  • Understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Good people skills, able to communicate at all levels.
  • Good organisation/Planning skills.
