A quick look at the role
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to support the performance and reliability of our operations in Edmonton. This role is key to maximising plant availability through effective planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and continuous improvement activities. You’ll play an important role in maintaining high engineering standards, reducing downtime, and ensuring all maintenance work is carried out safely and efficiently.
Your core responsibilities:
- Deliver high levels of plant availability through effective maintenance and rapid breakdown response.
- Diagnose faults quickly and carry out efficient repairs to minimise operational downtime.
- Support and deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules across site equipment and machinery.
- Identify recurring faults and help develop long term engineering solutions and process improvements.
- Carry out maintenance and repair work on plant and equipment in line with operational priorities.
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers regarding specialist maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance and housekeeping at all times.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with company procedures and current legislation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
Our essential requirements:
- Engineering qualification Level 3 City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience within an industrial environment.
- Experience carrying out fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance on production or processing equipment.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast paced operational environment.
Desirable qualifications:
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
