Overview
You will support the day-to-day operations. With safety, health, and environmental standards as your top priority, you will carry out testing and analysis of waste materials, ensure compliance with site permits and regulations, assist with waste acceptance and treatment processes, and contribute to maintaining operational efficiency. You will also help provide a high level of service to both internal and external customers, ensuring accurate records and supporting the smooth running of site activities.
Your core responsibilities
- Carry out laboratory and site-based chemical analysis to support the safe treatment, transfer, and disposal of waste materials.
- Ensure compliance with permits, licences, discharge consents, and other legal requirements by monitoring and recording relevant site data.
- Assess and decide on appropriate treatment methods for incoming waste streams, both bulk and packaged, in line with site capability and regulatory requirements.
- Support customer service by providing accurate and timely technical input to quotations, bookings, and waste acceptance processes.
- Maintain accurate bay logs and records to satisfy EA/HSE requirements and ensure correct cost allocation.
- Assist in site audits, inspections, and sampling activities to maintain safety and environmental standards.
- Promote safe working practices by following all health, safety, and environmental procedures, reporting hazards, and supporting continuous improvement in safety culture.
- Help identify and implement opportunities to improve site efficiency, reduce non-value activities, and support operational performance.

- You must have an HNC (or equivalent) for this role.
- Continued support and ongoing training.
- Relevant professional experience, including managing a mixed skills team in a busy demanding environment.
- Computer literate/using MS Office applications.
