As a Logistics Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end transport operations, ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of materials and finished goods across the business. Alongside leading logistics performance and managing haulier relationships, you will also play a key hands-on role in supply chain coordination, supporting planning, stock accuracy, and ERP processes. This role requires someone who can operate both strategically and operationally, stepping into coordinator-level activity when needed to keep the supply chain running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Manage inbound and outbound transport operations, ensuring alignment with production schedules and customer requirements.
- Plan and coordinate daily logistics activity, including transport bookings and warehouse transfers.
- Maintain strong relationships with hauliers, monitoring performance and resolving service issues.
- Oversee all transport documentation, ensuring compliance with UK and international regulations.
- Monitor logistics KPIs such as OTIF, delays, and service performance, driving continuous improvement.
- Support stock control and ERP system accuracy, including investigating discrepancies and processing adjustments.
- Assist with supply chain coordination tasks such as transport scheduling, purchase order creation, and inventory tracking.
- Act as a key link between production, warehouse, and commercial teams, ensuring smooth communication and operational flow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a logistics or transport management role.
- Hands-on experience with supply chain coordination or willingness to support at coordinator level.
- Strong understanding of transport planning, compliance, and documentation.
- Experience using ERP systems and managing data accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
