This role is critical to ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the AD Plant by leading both day-shift and rotational shift fitters, responsible for overseeing maintenance activities, managing engineering spares, coordinating with contractors, and improving the plant’s reliability through effective planning and problem-solving, effectively and efficiently responding to all operational engineering needs and prioritising the work load to reduce operational downtime ensuring health and safety requirements are always considered and executed.
Your core responsibilities.

Oversee day-shift fitters (Monday to Friday) and rotational 4-on-4-off shift fitters working days and nights.

Conduct regular inspections and audits, document findings in the CMMS, and lead initiatives to resolve issues promptly.

Ensure 100% CMMS compliance among technicians and shift supervisors, with weekly audits and training to achieve full utilization.

Maintain critical engineering spares stock and liaise with contractors to schedule and oversee repair and service work.

Develop and maintain engineering SOPs, risk assessments, and method statements, ensuring all documentation meets safety standards.

Lead RCA investigations to address failures and implement preventive actions to enhance plant reliability and safety.

Lead targeted training on CMMS and SCADA systems, providing ongoing mentorship with progress reviews for technicians.

Conduct monthly workplace inspections and audits, ensuring engineering facilities, tools, and safety standards are maintained.

Level 3 Qualified Mechanical/Electrical/Plant Engineering.

Knowledgeable in mechanical & Electrical maintenance – 5 years post apprenticeship Understanding of electrical/Instrument maintenance
