Bield is one of the largest providers of housing and support services for older people in Scotland, offering a diverse range of housing, care, and other services to encourage independence.
This is a 12-month maternity cover role with an immediate start.
The Role
This role focuses on employee relations. You will manage a varied caseload including absence, disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters, supporting managers through the process from start to finish and ensuring a fair and consistent approach in line with policy and employment legislation. In addition, you will contribute to day-to-day HR activity as part of a small, close working team. This includes managing shared inbox queries, payroll processes, recruitment, and general employee lifecycle activity. Success in this role requires confidence in managing ER casework while also being comfortable contributing across wider HR functions and working collaboratively with colleagues.
The Ideal Candidate
We seek candidates with demonstrable experience in HR generalist activities who can manage conflicting priorities. Ideally you have prior experience providing advice and guidance to managers on HR policies and procedures, but we also consider those looking to develop their HR knowledge and experience. Key attributes include attention to detail, the ability to remain calm under pressure, discretion when handling confidential information, strong numerical and IT skills, and strong interpersonal abilities with the capacity to adapt communication to all levels.
