Repairs Assistant
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid working)

We currently have a brand-new opportunity for a Repairs Assistant to join our Assets team. Based in Glasgow, the Property Management Team provide a full maintenance service to Bield’s property portfolio throughout 21 Local Authorities across Scotland.
The Role:
The purpose of the Repairs Assistant role is to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the repairs and maintenance team, ensuring timely coordination of repair works, accurate record-keeping, and excellent customer service.
This role is essential in maintaining communication between tenants, contractors, and internal teams, helping to ensure that all repair requests are processed smoothly and that service standards are consistently met.
On a day-to-day basis the successful candidate will need to ensure that all planned and reactive jobs are booked in for the appropriate individuals and are allocated the right amount of time, including moving jobs around as and when emergencies arise or when extra time is needed. This will involve working closely with our contact centre team and liaising with clients and tenants to ensure relevant access requirements and security is adhered to. You will be responsible for escalating outstanding jobs and following tasks through to completion making sure all jobs are ended on the system once completed as well as ensuring that all invoices are checked and processed in line with Bield and Contractor terms of payment.
The successful candidate will:
– have demonstrable experience in an administrative role within customer service;
– have experience maintaining stock and contractor information;
– ideally have previous experience in Housing sector in property maintenance.
With strong interpersonal skills you will be equally comfortable liaising with colleagues, contractors and our customers. You will be a team player, able to support multiple projects at the same time and deal with sensitive issues safely, securely and with discretion, ensuring documentation and files are maintained using appropriate document management systems.

In return, the successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, company pension and 34 days holiday (pro-rated for part-time) with the option to buy or sell leave each year.
Hours of employment are 35 hours per week (Full Time), Monday to Friday.
Following the successful period of induction and training, the hybrid working arrangements for the role will be 2 office and 3 home working days.
