The Role
The Repairs Manager will play a key role in delivering Bield’s short and long-term strategic goals and shaping the direction of the organisation for the future. The post-holder will have overall responsibility for the effective day to day management of our responsive repairs service and play a key role in the delivery of our void service. The Repairs Manager will drive performance excellence through innovative and best practice service delivery, underpinned by strong record keeping that allows Bield to manage performance and adapt services to ensure a first class repairs and voids service to our tenants. The Repairs Manager will have strong people management skills and will be somebody who can build teams and shape change. They will play a leading role in moving Bield into an extremely ambitious and innovative period for the organisation.
What We're Looking For
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience of managing a similar service and looking to help Bield drive business growth and shape the future direction of the organisation. The successful candidate will be adaptable, have experience in leading a team and committed to sharing knowledge and expertise. A skilled communicator with a flexible and pragmatic approach, they will have relevant experience in contractor management and the ability to work collaboratively with partners, stakeholders and customers. Educated to HND level (or above) in a property related discipline, they will have the ability to be creative and innovative in developing new working practices and systems to deliver key objectives, while leading, motivating and supporting a staff team of Planned Maintenance Officers and Administrative Assistants. A Full driving licence and ability to take part in an on-call rota are essential requirements of the role. Hours of employment are 35 hours per week, organised over Monday – Friday. The role is based in Glasgow, with regular travel across Bield sites and the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis.
