HR Advisor (Maternity Cover) Fixed Term Contract - Initial 3 Months (with potential to extend up to 4 months) Ideally starting 9 November 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our friendly and supportive HR team on a maternity cover contract. This role has a strong employee relations focus. You'll manage a varied caseload including absence, disciplinary, grievance and performance matters, providing practical, people-focused advice to managers and supporting them through processes from start to finish. Alongside casework, you'll contribute to day-to-day HR activity, including responding to queries, supporting recruitment, payroll processes and general employee lifecycle administration. Due to the short-term nature of the contract, we're looking for someone who can quickly build relationships, pick up an active caseload and make an immediate contribution to the team. Working Pattern Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm 1 hour unpaid break. About You You'll be: An experienced HR Advisor with a strong employee relations background. Confident managing disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance cases. Able to work independently while managing your own caseload. Comfortable balancing employee relations work with wider HR activity. Approachable, pragmatic and focused on finding practical solutions. A collaborative team player who values sharing knowledge and continuous improvement. What You'll Be Joining We're a small, supportive HR team that works closely together and values collaboration. While you'll be expected to manage your own caseload, you'll have regular support from two fellow HR Advisors, with opportunities to discuss cases, reflect on best practice and share learning. More complex matters can be escalated to the HR Manager for additional guidance where needed. We have clear processes and resources in place, alongside a people-focused approach that supports managers while ensuring fairness and consistency for employees.
