Support Worker opportunity in Edinburgh!

As a Support Worker at Castlebrae Glebe you will have the opportunity to make meaningful differences in the lives of individuals, assisting them with daily tasks, promoting independence and fostering a warm and supportive environment. Hours of employment are 16 hours per week, working 2 out of 7 days on a rota basis.

The Role

In your role as Support Worker, you will provide care and support to individuals in their own homes including:

– Assisting with household tasks

– Assisting and supporting with personal care, including intimate personal care

– Medication prompting/ administering 

Please note for this role, and for genuine occupational requirement reasons, we are looking to appoint a Female Support Worker (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

About You

You will:

– Have good communication skills, both verbal and written

– Have the ability and initiative to work on a lone working basis

– Have good time keeping, time management and organisational skills

– Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or have the ability and willingness to undertake this qualification

– Be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post
