Our Retirement Housing Services in North Ayrshire - Chalybeate Court are currently looking for a Casual Retirement Housing Assistant to support cover requirements for planned and emergency leave. This would be a great opportunity for someone who would like to have more flexibility around their working arrangements and/or gain experience in social care. We are a non-profit organisation with charitable status committed to providing a wide range of housing, care and support services to enable older people in Scotland to live independent and fulfilling lives.

Role Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will undertake a range of cleaning duties to ensure that internal communal areas are clean, hygienic and meet the standards expected by our tenants and visitors to the development.
  • On occasion, the Assistant will be expected to clean vacant flats and/or external pathways of the development and provide general and emergency assistance to tenants, as required.
  • In addition, you will respond to property emergencies, taking appropriate action when the Manager is off duty and providing cover for the development office as required.

  • Valuable practical work experience in social and health care sector.
  • Shifts will be offered on a casual basis to cover planned and emergency leave.
  • Ability to accept shifts at short notice would be desirable, however not essential.

About You

Experience of a similar type of role would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement as training will be provided. You should bring to the role a genuine interest in working with older people and an ability to respond calmly to requests for assistance.
