Assistant (RHWM) Opportunity in Alexandria
Bield is one of the largest providers of housing and support services to older people in Scotland and everyone plays an important role in making sure that our services improve the lives of older people in Scotland.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual to join the Croft, Alexandria. Our caring team works to ensure people aged 50 and over have the opportunity to maintain their independence, but take over the worries, such as meals.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a range of duties to ensure that internal communal areas are clean, hygienic and meet the standards expected by our tenants and visitors to the development. You will also assist by preparing the dining room for mealtimes, heating prepared meals and delivering them to tenants.
On occasion, the Assistant will be expected to clean vacant flats and/or external pathways of the development and provide general and emergency assistance to tenants, as required. In addition you will respond to property emergencies, taking appropriate action when the Manager is off duty and providing cover for the development office as required.
Hours of employment
16 hours per week, Friday and Saturday 10:30 β 19:00. Each shift includes a 30 minute unpaid break.
Role Requirements
You have the opportunity to place health and nutrition of older people at the centre of our meals service, working closely with our tenants to plan and prepare menus that meet individual preferences and dietary requirements. It is paramount that all food hygiene and health and safety standards set by Bield and external regulators are met, therefore an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent would be desirable. You must also have experience of delivering a high standard of meal service with an understanding of nutritional and dietary requirements of older people.
