A nationally critical, regulated infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Director of Contract & Supplier Management to lead a large, established function and take ownership of a multi‑billion‑pound, highly complex in‑life contract portfolio.

This is a senior leadership mandate operating at scale, with responsibility for the organisation’s most important supplier relationships, spanning technology, infrastructure, and outsourced services. The role carries real authority and visibility, with a strong focus on performance, value delivery and stakeholder confidence.

The role

  • Lead and uplift a c.30‑person Contracts & Supplier Management function following recent organisational change
  • Own a ÂŁbn‑scale portfolio of long‑term, high‑value contracts, with direct accountability for supplier performance, risk and outcomes
  • Personally lead senior‑level negotiations, contract resets and issue resolution with strategic partners
  • Establish clear governance, KPI cadence and escalation frameworks to drive accountability
  • Act as a credible senior interface to internal executives, regulators and external partners, materially reducing reliance on executive escalation

About you

  • Proven senior commercial / contract leader with experience operating at enterprise scale (ÂŁbn+ spend or portfolio responsibility)
  • Deep in‑life contract and supplier management expertise (this is not a sourcing or procurement role)
  • Track record of leading large, complex teams and restoring confidence, clarity and operating rhythm
  • Comfortable navigating regulated environments, heavy governance, and multiple senior stakeholders
  • Resilient, pragmatic leader able to operate where ambiguity, scrutiny and competing priorities are the norm
