Are you a Rural Graduate looking to kick‑start your career in a leading consultancy? We are looking for a Graduate Rural Surveyor to work as part of a collaborative team across a significant and diverse rural estate portfolio, gaining exposure to large‑scale landholdings and a broad range of estate management activities. As a Graduate Rural Surveyor at Bidwells, you’ll join our structured Graduate Development Programme, gaining hands‑on experience across our specialist teams while developing the commercial, technical and professional skills needed to succeed. You’ll receive structured training, mentoring and regular reviews to support your progression.
You will be joining our Rural Estate Management and Professional team, a well‑established team that brings a fresh, modern approach to land agency, combining deep‑rooted sector knowledge with innovative thinking to support the evolving rural economy. We advise on over 1 million acres of farms and estates across the UK, working with a wide range of clients including private individuals, estates, trusts, charities and corporate organisations. Our services span agency, estate management, business strategy, valuations, planning and development and renewable energy consultancy. We are looking for someone to join us around the beginning of July, with the role based in either our Inverness or Perth office.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting senior surveyors across a range of professional work, including valuations, diversification projects, business planning, grant sourcing and landlord & tenant matters.
- Assisting with day‑to‑day estate management, including inspections, tenancy agreements and general estate issues.
- Supporting property management activities such as tenant liaison, rent reviews, schedules of condition and contractor coordination.
- Preparing maps, plans and supporting documentation where required.
- Maintaining accurate records and assisting with reporting and data analysis.
- Supporting rent administration tasks, including rent reviews, tenant accounts and arrears management.
- Assisting with client reporting and ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
- Contributing to wider team activities, including supporting existing clients and developing business generation skills.
About You:
- A Cognate RICS accredited degree, ideally 2:1 or above.
- A‑Levels and GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grade C/5 or above (or equivalent).
- It would be beneficial to have demonstrable work experience within the property sector.
- A solid understanding of land and property.
- Strong IT capability, including confident use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and online research tools.
- Excellent written communication skills, including clear report writing, professional business English and high attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships at all levels.
- A full UK driving licence.
