Due to growth and success, we are looking for a number of Land Agents / Rural Surveyors to work as part of a collaborative team across a significant and diverse rural estate portfolio in Scotland. You will be joining our Rural Estate Management and Professional team, a well-established team that brings a fresh, modern approach, combining deep-rooted sector knowledge with innovative thinking to support the evolving rural economy. We advise on over 1 million acres of farms and estates across the UK, working with a wide range of clients including private individuals, estates, trusts, charities and corporate organisations. This role can be based in either our Perth or Inverness office, with agile working options.
What you’ll be doing
- This role will focus on a particular rural portfolio but there may be opportunities to work on other instructions within the division.
- The role will include a variety of responsibilities:
- Deliver rural estate management services and projects across the rural portfolio including, but not limited to, let farms and let residential properties, sporting leases, community and stakeholder liaison, managing staff and diversification projects.
- Client relationship management: develop strong relationships with tenants and clients, and understand client needs and requirements.
- Develop plans to satisfy the instructions and agree them with interested parties.
- Report regularly to the clients and colleagues.
- Prepare, monitor and maintain budgets and other financial records.
- Business development: help identify opportunities to cross-sell other Bidwells services.
- Internal relationship management (sharing knowledge and referring business).
- Act as a subject matter expert.
About You
- Experience in land agency, rural surveying, rural estate management and/or professional work.
- Ideally completed the RICS APC.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office package.
- Excellent business writing and organisation skills.
- Friendly and professional approach.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and deal with competing deadlines and workload.
- Ability to work on your own with proactive initiative.
- Strong people skills with an ability to communicate via a number of mediums at all levels of the business.
