Senior Asset Manager - Cambridge Science Park

Senior Asset Manager - Cambridge Science Park

Cambridge Full-Time On-site
B

We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Asset Manager to join Bidwells and work predominantly on behalf of Trinity College Cambridge, one of our most significant investment clients. You’ll have the opportunity to play a central role in the management and evolution of its UK property endowment, with a particular focus on one of the portfolio’s flagship assets, Cambridge Science Park.

Trinity College’s property endowment spans industrial, office, research and development, residential, retail and rural assets, and the portfolio generates around half of the College’s income. That means the decisions you help make have significance far beyond the properties themselves, supporting the College and its wider charitable purpose.

For an Asset Manager looking for scale, complexity, influence and genuine long-term impact, opportunities like this don’t come around often.

A chance to shape an extraordinary asset

A major focus of your role will be Cambridge Science Park, where Trinity College’s freehold ownership extends across the full 152-acre Park, incorporating parkland and lakes alongside approximately 2 million sq ft of office, laboratory and amenity space.

Rather than simply managing what exists today, you’ll help determine what comes next.

You’ll develop and deliver strategic Asset Management Plans, identify opportunities to create value, assess investment opportunities and oversee initiatives spanning lease events, lettings, refurbishment, development, planning and sustainability.

You'll work alongside an exceptional multidisciplinary team including asset and property managers, letting agents, planners, building surveyors, project managers, facilities managers and lease consultancy specialists. You’ll also build relationships with occupiers, investor-tenants, local authorities, neighbouring landowners and other stakeholders.

Few Asset Management roles offer this breadth of exposure or the opportunity to influence an asset of this scale.

What you'll be doing

At the heart of the role will be creating and delivering strategies that generate sustainable, long-term value.

You’ll:

  • Develop and execute short, medium and long-term Asset Management Plans.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance value through rent reviews, lease renewals, re-gears, lettings, refurbishment, development and planning.
  • Undertake the financial assessment of investment and asset management opportunities.
  • Oversee projects and coordinate internal and external specialists to turn strategy into delivery.
  • Build trusted relationships with the client, occupiers, local authorities and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the wider Bidwells team understands the strategy for each asset and works collectively to deliver it.
  • Help translate the client’s sustainability ambitions into practical asset-level strategies and initiatives.
  • Take responsibility for excellent client reporting and service delivery.
  • Contribute your ideas, experience and perspective to the wider Investment and Property Management team.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is as comfortable thinking strategically as they are getting things done.

You'll bring solid commercial property and investment management experience, ideally gained across different asset classes, together with exposure to a variety of asset management initiatives. You'll be commercially astute, financially confident and able to analyse an opportunity, build a compelling case and see it through to delivery.

You’ll ideally be MRICS qualified with demonstrable experience in a similar, high-profile role, but for us, it’s the strength, breadth and relevance of your experience that matters most, rather than simply how many years you’ve been qualified.

More importantly, we're looking for someone who:

  • Thinks creatively about how property can deliver long-term value.
  • Enjoys solving complex commercial and property challenges.
  • Can challenge thinking while remaining collaborative and pragmatic.
  • Builds trusted relationships naturally, from senior clients to occupiers and specialist advisers.
  • Has strong financial, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Understands commercial landlord and tenant matters.
  • Has an interest in sustainability and the net zero carbon agenda within property investment.
  • Wants the opportunity to take genuine ownership and influence strategy, not simply administer it.
