Highly skilled and experienced Head of Security to oversee the operational delivery, training, compliance, and business continuity of our manned guarding contract in Central London.
This role demands a strategic leader with a proven track record in managing security operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement and align and support the long-term sustainable property strategy.
- Oversee the day-to-day security operations for the manned guarding contract, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.
- Develop and implement operational plans to meet client requirements and contractual obligations.
- Address operational challenges expeditiously to minimise disruption to site-based operations
- Design, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs for security personnel to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Identify training needs and provide continuous professional development opportunities to maintain a high-performing team.
- Ensure all security personnel are fully compliant with industry standards and regulations
- Ensure all security operations adhere to relevant legislation, industry standards, and client-specific requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance with health and safety, security regulations, and company policies.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure that all necessary certifications and accreditations are up to date.
- Develop and implement robust business continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted service delivery in the event of an incident or emergency.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the security operations, including developing contingency plans.
- Lead incident management responses and ensure comprehensive reporting and analysis of security incidents.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction with the security services provided.
- Regularly meet with clients to review performance, discuss improvements, and ensure alignment with their expectations.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring open communication and effective collaboration.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Duty Shift Managers and officers, fostering a positive work environment.
- Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to ensure the team meets its targets.
- Ensure effective resource planning and deployment to meet the operational demands of the contract.
- Manage the security contract’s budget, ensuring cost-effective service delivery while maintaining high standards.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and innovations in the security industry and implement best practices within the operation.
- Continuously seek ways to improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.
- Lead initiatives to enhance technology integration within the security operations.
- Provide training and support to staff on environmental issues and best practices these will include toolbox talks
- Advise all levels of management on applicable environmental legislation ensuring we comply with our legal obligations with regards to Environmental Regulation

- Job Role Requirements as a Security Manager
- A valid SIA Licence
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential
- Display a thorough and appropriate knowledge of regulations and working laws that govern the security and safety of staff, visitors, contractors, and colleagues
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Evacuation and Emergency procedures, firefighting equipment, evacuation principles and communication skills via telephone/PA/radio equipment
- Good understanding and proven ability in dealing with incident/crisis management
- Good written ability and numeracy are required to prepare working rosters, timesheets, and various other reports
- Excellent English in both verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid front line SIA license.
- Excellent knowledge of operational security software applications or the ability to acquire such knowledge through training.
- 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English or equivalent.
- First Aid at Work (if not currently held, qualification must be gained within 3 months of employment).
- NVQ 5 in Security Management (if not currently held, qualification must be gained within 3 months of employment)
- IOSH Managing Safely (if not currently held, qualification must be gained within 3 months of employment)
- All staff have now been aligned to 25 days holiday and 1 additional holiday for their birthday (26 in total) + BH
- All staff have been provided with 2 x annual salary life assurance
- We have allocated provision for staff Healthcare based on an annual cost of £500pp
