About The Role
POSITION IDENTIFICATION
- Title: Corporate Day Security officer - Mon- Friday 07:00 - 19:00
- Reporting To: Operations Manager (OM)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To play an active role in ensuring the physical security of the building is maintained at all times.
- To be the primary contact for external visitors to the building, remaining polite, positive and professional when dealing with any given situation.
- To assist the Security Control Centre operatives in the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Security
- Ensure that all points of exit/entry are manned, ensuring a visible Security presence is maintained to deter crime.
- Ensure all points of exit/entry are in physical working order and report any failure to Security Control.
- Ensure a high standard of customer care skills are maintained in a friendly approachable manner.
- Assist with any reasonable customer request.
- Direct visitors to the main Reception desk, and where visitors have been waiting for a period of time, approach and offer assistance.
- Effectively respond to all Security Control instructions.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with Security Control.
- Conduct building patrols, both internal and external, reporting defects to Security Control.
- Liaise with Reception staff and other services affecting Front of House standards.
- Comply with Nomura’s policies and procedures for traffic management in Loading Bay areas.
- Respond to and report any breaches of Security.
- Assist the Security team in conducting weekly checks of life safety systems on behalf of Real Estate and Services.
- Respond to any suspicious person/activity and elevate appropriately.
- Give a full and detailed handover to the next Security Officer on position.
Administration
- Maintain accurate and correct documentation (e.g. logbooks, both physical and electronic) while on post.
- Provide accurate and timely reports to Security Control for incidents occurring within the building.
- Ensure compliance with legal, Company and contractual obligations, such as the Data Protection Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, procedures outlined in the Company Handbook and Assignment Instructions.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Display your SIA Licence at all times whilst on duty.
- Be aware of policy and procedures owned and changed from time to time by Ultimate Security Services Limited.
- Be aware of policy and procedures owned and changed from time to time by Nomura International.
- Carry out any other reasonable request as required by the SOM.

- Be physically able to carry out duties, which include long periods of standing.
- Previous Security experience.
- Good PC skills with knowledge of Word, Excel.
- SIA Door Supervisor licence (preferable) or Security licence (Frontline).
- First Aid and Defibrillator trained.
