What You'll Be Doing

As a Night Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of the shopping centre during out-of-hours operations.

Your duties will include

  • Conducting regular internal and external patrols of the shopping centre and surrounding areas.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of the building, retailers, staff, contractors, and assets.
  • Monitoring CCTV systems and responding appropriately to any incidents or suspicious activity.
  • Carrying out lock and unlock procedures in accordance with site requirements.
  • Responding promptly and professionally to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.
  • Completing detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and handover records.
  • Assisting with access control for approved contractors and authorised personnel.
  • Monitoring car parks and service areas to ensure they remain safe and secure.
  • Reporting maintenance issues, hazards, and health and safety concerns.
  • Working closely with the Centre Management team and emergency services when required.
  • Helping to maintain a welcoming, safe, and community-focused environment that residents, shoppers, and retailers can be proud of.

Skills & Experience Required

We're looking for someone who is professional, reliable, and dedicated to delivering high standards of security and customer service.

  • Previous experience in a Security Officer role is preferred.
  • A valid SIA Licence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Good customer service skills and a community-focused approach.
  • Basic computer literacy and experience completing reports electronically.
  • The ability to work independently and make sound decisions when responding to incidents.
