About the Role
We’re looking for a Bid Programme Lead to take ownership of the front-end of our bid lifecycle, leading the Plan Team within our high-performing Plan-Create-Quality operating model. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring every opportunity is captured, qualified, prioritised, and progressed with precision, underpinned by strong governance, data integrity, and workflow discipline. You’ll provide visibility across the pipeline, balance capacity and priorities, and enable the wider bid function to deliver high-quality, compliant, and competitive submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline & Programme Leadership
- Own and maintain the bid pipeline (Bid Register) with accurate, real-time data
- Oversee opportunity qualification, prioritisation, and alignment to strategy
- Manage workload, scheduling, and resource allocation across bids
- Bid Intake & Workflow Governance
- Lead bid intake, ensuring all opportunities are fully documented and structured
- Enforce governance processes, lifecycle stages, and approval gates
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, risks, and resource conflicts early
- Information & Data Management
- Ensure all bid documentation is captured, structured, and governed correctly
- Maintain consistency across CRM, workflow tools, and document repositories
- Oversee opportunity summaries and readiness for Bid/No Bid decisions
- Governance, Risk & Assurance
- Lead Bid/No Bid (BNB) governance and ensure decisions are evidence-based
- Monitor risks, dependencies, and compliance across all bids
- Ensure all approvals and checkpoints are completed and recorded
- Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Provide clear pipeline reporting, dashboards, and performance insights
- Analyse trends and identify process improvements across the bid lifecycle
- Embed lessons learned into future planning and workflow optimisation
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and develop the Plan Team, ensuring consistency and discipline
- Act as the coordination point across Plan, Create, and Quality teams
- Partner with stakeholders across Growth, Operations, and support functions
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in bid management, programme delivery, or PMO environments
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex workstreams and stakeholders
- Expertise in workflow tools (e.g. SharePoint, Planner, CRM)
- Highly analytical, with the ability to spot risks, trends, and inefficiencies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on governance, data accuracy, and process discipline
- Resilient, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced bid environment
