A rare opportunity has come up to join a technology company who operate in the defence sector. My client is looking for a Senior Bid Manager on a 12 month contract. This is a full time role, working hybrid from either Lincoln or Cambridge. This role would suit a bid professional who is confident managing all aspects of the bid process as well as creating written content. You will be joining a team of 4, focusing on larger, more complex opportunities. Applicants must be able to pass security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end bid process including (but not limited to) the planning and facilitation of Win Strategy reviews, Bid Kick-off meetings, Content Planning workshops and reviews, Proposal Document reviews and other key approval stages.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop a clear win strategy for each bid and ensure win themes are clear and compelling.
  • Manage bid teams and obtain inputs from key stakeholders, typically engaging with business development, technical teams, finance, commercial, HR and project management / delivery groups.
  • Manage and track risks throughout the bid process.
  • Review and contribute to the written proposal.
  • Ensure on-time submission of compliant and commercially sound bids.
  • Flexibility and willingness to manage and deliver responses of all types (i.e. PQQ/RFI/RFP/ITT/Framework responses) for clients across various sectors.
  • Produce persuasive bids demonstrating the ability of the Company to deliver quality solutions.
  • Collation of estimates and cost inputs from SMEs; prepare and present cost data into the appropriate corporate format in readiness for governance.
  • Responsible for the timely planning, management, and completion of all bid submissions including Expression of Interest, Pre-Qualifying Questionnaire’s and formal tender responses.
  • Support opportunity planning activities across the company where appropriate.
  • Adhere to the bid process as governed by the internal system.
  • Facilitate bid reviews to ensure quality and compliance, conducting post bid Learning from Experience (LfE) reviews.
  • Manage the collation of content from SMEs.
  • Manage the bid teams’ responses and content within the bid lifecycle process.
  • Work with SMEs to extract compelling value-add statements and Win Themes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the Bid team to the benefit of the wider business.
