A leading technology company who operates mainly within the defence sector is currently seeking a bid writer. This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established bid team, where you can work closely with experienced team members to learn and grow within a bid writer role. You can be based within a commutable distance to either office (Cambridge or Lincoln) as the bid team is split across both locations. There will be a requirement to travel to the other office every other month.
We are looking for someone with 1-2 years exposure to bidding and has some form of writing experience (doesn't have to be bid writing). You will have a willingness to learn, and be comfortable talking to and working with people of all seniority levels.
Duties and responsibilities:- Support storyboard sessions with bid teams and key stakeholders
- Translate complex technical input into clear, structured responses aligned to evaluation criteria
- Work with subject matter experts to extract knowledge through interviews and workshops
- Support Bid Managers in shaping proposal structure, win themes and response strategy
- Identify and adapt relevant pre-written material where appropriate
- Develop and maintain high-quality responses for future opportunities
- Edit and refine contributions from across the business to ensure clarity and consistency
- Deliver completed responses to agreed deadlines and escalate risks where needed
- Keep the bid library up to date
