A fantastic opportunity has come up to take on the responsibility of a bid team within a well-known organisation in the healthcare sector. If you’ve managed a team (of any size, in or out of bids) and have at least 2 years bid management experience, this could be the perfect role for you! This is a full time, permanent role, based in Runcorn. Hybrid working options are available. The salary is £40,000 (possibly slightly more) with a bonus of around £7,000 (performance related based on agreed targets with your line manager).
Key Responsibilities
- Project manage the tender process for all business streams and work closely with the senior sales and marketing management team to complete tender submissions.
- Review the Contracts Advance tracker report on a daily basis as an additional check to ensure all potential opportunities are captured.
- To ensure a high standard and consistent approach is taken with all tenders in order to improve tender success.
- Cover bid writing responsibilities, including drafting of responses, meeting stakeholders and updating responses, where volume of submissions outweighs capacity for Bid Writer resource.
- Line manage a team of Associate Contracts Co-ordinators, Contracts Co-ordinators and Bid Writers to ensure consistent delivery of all accountabilities to all stakeholders.
- Hold regular 1-to-1 meetings with each team member to assess and manage individual performance.
- Manage team resource to ensure sufficient capacity within the team at all times (incl holidays, sickness).
- To ensure the systems and processes are in place to ensure pricing accuracy for all customers.
- Daily monitoring of automated SAP reports and investigation of any issues identified / flagged by team members.
- To monitor daily reports and ensure to ensure Team have carried out the relevant due diligence.
- To ensure all standard supporting tender documentation is regularly reviewed for accuracy and correct representation of the business in order to increase tender success.
- Review submissions with the Bid Writer and/or appropriate Co-ordinator prior to submission to ensure all required information is included and accurate.
- Conduct a thorough review of the tender outcome against the scoring criteria, updating information held on file and highlighting areas of concern (low scoring) to the business via the risk register.
- Work closely with the business area to ascertain whether we tolerate, treat, transfer or terminate the risk identified.
Requirements
- Previous team management experience essential (in or out of bids)
- Minimum of 2 years bid management experience
- Previous public sector bidding experience, particularly NHS would be an advantage
