Location: UK-wide (Remote/Hybrid with National Travel)

Contract: Full-time | 2-Stage Interview Process

Bonus: Up to 15% Performance-Based Bonus

Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 per annum

We’re working with a major UK transport operator at the forefront of public transport transformation. As franchising and contract-based services become increasingly central to their strategy, they are expanding their commercial team to support high-value bids and long-term growth.

We’re seeking a Bid Commercial Lead to play a key role in the development and delivery of large-scale, strategic bids across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation committed to innovation, sustainability, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial and financial strategy for major bids and contracts.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify contractual opportunities and challenges.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to ensure cost-effective pricing strategies.
  • Provide financial modelling and investment analysis (e.g., CapEx vs. leasing).
  • Support the development of competitive, insight-driven bids.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to shape long-term growth strategies.
  • Present commercial plans to internal leadership and mobilisation teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement and contract management.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Proven ability to analyse risk and develop strategic responses.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience in competitor analysis and market research.
  • Background in the transport or public services sector.
  • Experience in senior bid management and leading commercial bid strategy.
