A leading consultancy is seeking an experienced independent management consultant to support upcoming submissions for a major UK Government Consultancy & Professional Services framework.
This is a specialist assignment suited to a consultant with deep UK Central Government experience.
You will have operated at a senior level within government consulting and have a proven ability to translate practical programme delivery experience into clear, persuasive and high‑scoring written responses.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining hands‑on consulting expertise with structured, high‑quality writing.
This is a flexible engagement, suitable for consultants who prefer fractional or project‑based work.
The engagement is live and we are looking to onboard a consultant as soon as possible.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing tailored, high‑quality responses to hypothetical government consulting scenarios.
- Applying first‑hand experience of major government transformation programmes to shape credible delivery approaches.
- Structuring, drafting and refining clear, concise and persuasive written responses within strict character limits.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to gather insight, shape methodologies and align content to evaluation criteria.
- Ensuring all written material reflects best‑practice consulting approaches and meets government scoring expectations.
- Translating complex consulting methodologies into well‑structured, logical and compelling narratives.
- Supporting the development of content that demonstrates governance, programme delivery, operating model design and senior stakeholder engagement.
- Producing responses that directly align with quality scoring frameworks and maximise evaluation outcomes.
Experience Required
- Senior‑level consulting background (Principal, Director, Managing Consultant, Partner or equivalent).
- Extensive experience delivering large, complex transformation programmes across UK Central Government.
- Prior involvement in developing successful quality responses for major government consultancy frameworks.
- Strong understanding of government evaluation and scoring methodologies.
- Exceptional written communication skills, able to articulate complex consulting approaches clearly and persuasively.
- Ability to respond to hypothetical scenarios using practical, experience‑based methodologies.
