About the Role

The successful applicant will become an integral part of the Fresh Meat team in onboarding and account management of new and existing National customers, ensuring we meet ongoing margin and sales targets. The successful applicant will be responsible for not only the overall category targets but also those specific to the sectors they manage. As a member of the team you will be responsible for supporting on tenders, developing the commercial proposition, participating in customer facing meetings, existing customer development days and general account management. Furthermore, you will support on essential new business activity such as mobilisations and new product listings.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Bidfood business, marketplace and the wider industry
  • Knowledge of meat and meat markets
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Canva & Outlook
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and be able to communicate at all levels
  • Decisive, assertive and persuasive in your communications internally and externally
  • An analytical approach to data to make informed decisions with an eye for detail
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Resilient, hardworking and the ability to work under pressure
  • Innovative and demonstrate originality and creativity in solving problems and meeting the needs of our customers both internal and external

  • You can use Excel, PowerPoint effectively and are confident in using data to inform decisions

  • You communicate effectively and empathetically including handling negotiations, delivering presentations and influencing at all levels
  • You are organised, keep calm under pressure and can effectively work to tight deadlines

You will be responsible for large national customer(s) that are serviced by a number of our depots across the country, making sure their experience with us is seamless and maximizing commercial opportunities to develop the account. Working closely with key departments such as Supply Chain, Finance and Business Support you will find innovative solutions that meet customers’ needs whilst enabling the business to operate in the most profitable and efficient way. Balancing the daily demands with one eye on the future, you will develop long term business plans with your customer and keep your focus on retaining our national partnerships for years to come. It’s a demanding but hugely rewarding role, no two days are the same as you have autonomy to manage your own diary. You will be homebased but you will need to own a full driving license and be comfortable with travelling as you collaborate with your customers and colleagues across the country.
