Cleaning Operative Days
A warehouse cleaner maintains safe, sanitary, and organized warehouse environments by cleaning floors, aisles, equipment, restrooms, break rooms, and waste areas using industrial tools and following safety protocols.
Overview
A warehouse cleaner ensures the facility remains clean, hazard‑free, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards. This role supports smooth warehouse operations and helps prevent accidents, contamination, and equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub warehouse floors and aisles using industrial cleaning machines (scrubbers, sweepers, pressure washers).
- Keep aisles, walkways, and storage areas free of debris and obstructions.
- Clean loading docks, ramps, racking, shelving, and staging areas.
- Empty trash, recycling, and cardboard compactors; manage waste streams safely.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and cafeterias.
- Perform detailed cleaning of conveyor systems, pallet silos, and automated equipment during shutdowns.
- Respond to spills (oil, chemicals, product) using proper PPE and spill‑kit procedures.
- Store cleaning equipment properly and perform basic maintenance or troubleshooting.
- Maintain logs of cleaning activities and report hazards or maintenance needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment (scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers).
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and SDS safety procedures.
- Physical stamina for lifting, standing, and repetitive tasks.
- Attention to detail and time‑management skills.
- Ability to follow safety protocols (PPE, lockout/tagout).
