Residential Support Worker
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at a residential care home for children and young people with Complex needs, Learning Difficulties (EBD), challenging behaviour, and other Mental Health issues.
Responsibilities
We’re looking for a passionate Support Worker to join our residential service supporting children and young people (ages 10–17) with Learning Difficulties (EBD), Complex needs, and challenging behaviour. You’ll support individuals with day-to-day indoor and outdoor activities, help them build independence, and provide emotional and practical support during difficult moments, including knowledge of administering medications. The role includes maintaining professional boundaries, safeguarding wellbeing, managing challenging and self-harming behaviours, assisting with personal care, accurately documenting activities, incidents, and any concerns in line with policies and guidance.
About You
You’re patient, resilient, reliable, and flexible, with strong values and a motivational approach. Experience in mental health is desirable, but what matters most is your willingness to learn and adapt because every day can be different. You’ll be committed to delivering person-centred care, following procedures, and working as part of a team to help each person achieve their potential. This is a 24/7 service, with shifts typically 12–14 hours (starting at 9:00am), and may include sleep-ins and weekend cover.
