Transport Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, including Operator Licence requirements, Driver Hours Regulations, and Working Time Directive.
- Develop and coach a team of drivers, transport team managers and administrative colleagues.
- Drive a strong health, safety, and compliance culture throughout the department.
- Investigate incidents, manage corrective actions, and ensure robust compliance processes are maintained.
- Manage a large fleet of HGV vehicles, ensuring maximum fleet availability, compliance and maintenance scheduling.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport leadership role.
- National or International CPC qualification.
- Proven experience managing a large HGV fleet, including maintenance planning, defect management, and coordinating vehicle repairs with external garages and service providers to maximise fleet availability, safety, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing large driver teams within a distribution or logistics environment.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Whilst our Drivers are our caring for our customers the Transport Leadership Team will be caring for them. Having the ability to clearly identify and prioritise workloads is essential ensuring that all tasks are completed safety and to standard within the required SLA timescales and budget.
Flexibility is crucial to achieve success with the ability and willingness to adapt working hours when required. Though the majority of your shifts will be Monday to Friday there will be a requirement for occasional weekend working.
