We are seeking a Route Planner to assist the Transport Team in ensuring that the drivers are routed and scheduled in the most efficient way whilst delivering service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Plan routes for drivers coming out of the Chepstow and Swansea depot, maximising cases per vehicle and managing the volume of cases per vehicle.
- Work closely with the Transport Team to ensure that all routing and planning complies with drivers' working hours and customer requirements, delivering service excellence.
- Plan the order of deliveries according to agreed timescales, taking into consideration any customer requirements.
- Maintain awareness of legal requirements such as the working time directive to accommodate routes.
- Respond to urgent changes in customer requirements, adapting routes as required.
- Be adaptable and find solutions to problems as they arise.
Qualifications
- Similar experience of working within a transport department.
- Effective communicator with strong organisation skills and a keen eye for detail.
