The Finance Business Support team partners with all Business Support departments to deliver timely commercial and financial information, analysis, and insight that supports effective decision-making. We are looking for a commercially focused Assistant Accountant to join the team. This is a highly visible role, partnering closely with Business Support stakeholders and the Leadership Team to deliver meaningful financial insight, challenge, and support effective decision-making. You will play a key role in driving financial performance, producing accurate and timely reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency across the business.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments to support accurate financial reporting.
- Analyse financial performance and present clear insight, challenge, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring risks, variances, and key movements are clearly explained.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, working with stakeholders to understand cost drivers and future requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, reporting quality, and financial control across Business Support areas.
