About the role
Yarde Farm is an established and growing ice cream manufacturer based in Devon, producing high-quality products for customers across the UK.
We are looking for a Quality Operative to join our team and play a key role in maintaining the high food safety, quality, and compliance standards that underpin our business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or food safety who enjoys working in a hands-on production environment and takes pride in ensuring products meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine quality checks throughout the production process.
- Conduct product sampling, testing, and record results accurately.
- Monitor production areas to ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Complete quality documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Support allergen management and product traceability procedures.
- Assist with internal audits, GMP inspections, and hygiene assessments.
- Investigate and report quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints as required.
- Work closely with Production and Technical teams to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Verify product specifications, labels, coding, and packaging compliance.
- Promote a positive food safety and quality culture across the site.
About You
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing, quality assurance, or quality control environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Confident communicator with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Basic IT skills and experience completing quality documentation.
- Food Safety qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential, as training can be provided.
