Senior Bid Coordinator – Hybrid / London
An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Bid Coordinator to join its vibrant UK Bid Team. As Senior Bid Coordinator, you will manage high-stakes bids and frameworks, implement best practices across the bid lifecycle, and create compelling marketing materials.
This position will form part of a wider bid team based across the Bath, London, and Leeds offices, therefore willingness and ability to travel to these offices occasionally is required.
Senior Bid Coordinator Key Responsibilities:
The main focus of this role will be across three key areas, with core focus and responsibilities around public procurement.
- Ensure all bids follow the UK Bid / No Bid process before agreeing to support, providing input
- Review bid documentation identifying key requirements, deadlines, win themes and raising potential issues
- Check the Commercial and Legal Team is informed where necessary to ensure that contractual / legislative requirements are met
- Organise and lead the Bid Kick-Off meetings for significant bids to agree commitment to bid, capture the bid themes, arrange the programme, and identify key team members and case study projects
- Review input to bids from technical teams against bid criteria, highlighting any potential gaps in information, and ensuring we have understood the client\’s requirements and developed a tailored and focused response
- Create additional bespoke content for the submission, by interviewing the necessary technical team members to capture the right story
- Ensure that all submissions are well written, compliant with what the client has asked for, and are in line with agreed themes and the company brand and corporate message. Challenge any content that falls short of meeting the expected standard and score
- Design and collate submission documents – ensuring accuracy of input, proof-reading and spell checking, communicating additional graphic requirements with the Graphic Design team
- Identify leads, opportunities and bids for the Business Unit / Sector, working with the wider BD team to maintain the pipeline.
- Create, capture and share model answers and refined project descriptions
- Collate, share and disseminate best practice and lessons learned from bid feedback
- Attend Bid Coordinator team meetings to gain progress updates, maintain communication and ensure submission best practice
- Assist with data cleansing activities for monthly management reports
- Assist with Pipeline reporting
Senior Bid Coordinator Experience & Qualifications
Required skills:
- Previous Bid Coordination experience in the public sector essential
- Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
- Previous experience of coordinating and managing tight deadlines
- Excellent computer and IT skills including; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and experience of using spreadsheets and databases
Desirable skills:
- Previous experience within an architectural practice, construction or engineering industries would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of, or skillset with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign specifically) would be advantageous
- Membership / Certification in APMP (Association for Proposal Management Professionals)
