An experienced Bid Manager is sought to join a dynamic Business Development team in a commercial law firm based in Cardiff (Hybrid working). This individual will play a pivotal role in managing the bid process from start to finish, producing high-quality written content for both public and private sector opportunities. The Bid Manager will draft, edit, and coordinate compelling bid responses that align with client requirements and reflect brand values. Working closely with Legal, HR, Finance, and Operations teams, the successful candidate will handle multiple bids simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor tender portals daily to identify new opportunities and early engagement prospects.
  • Contribute to the completion of SQ / PQQ and onboarding documents.
  • Collaborate with the Content Writer to create and refine engaging, brand-aligned content.
  • Lead the qualification process and coordinate all tender-related activities, including proposals, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Act as a Bidding Coach, advising colleagues and contributing to the organisation’s social value strategy.
  • Partner with the Head of Bids & Tenders to develop targeted win strategies.
  • Analyse bid performance, collate feedback, and maintain accurate records.
  • Generate MI reports, track tender activity, and recommend process improvements.

Ideal Candidate

  • Holds (or is working towards) an APMP Foundation Certificate (advantageous).
  • Demonstrates proven experience in bid processes across public and private sectors.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Shows a passion for continuous improvement and enhancing bid processes.
  • Has experience in developing and writing compelling content, particularly around social value delivery.
  • Understands prompt engineering for generative AI tools to drive efficiency in bid management, content creation, tone adjustment, and task automation.
